The long-awaited day Javier Hernandez and the red and white fans arrived and finally “Chicharito” was able to step on the field again during an official match after almost a year of inactivity.

It is worth remembering that last June the Mexican striker tore the ligaments in his knee, which is why he underwent surgery that we already knew would keep him off the field for at least seven months, and on the eighth he finally returned.

The now red and white player He came on as a substitute in the 87th minute in the match against Pumas and was able to compete on the field for about 10 minutes, considering the compensation time, which although it did not weigh on the scoreboard, were enough so that Hernández was encouraged to speak to the press and share his impressions after his return to football and, no less important, his return to Chivas after 14 yearssince that day when he played his last game before the people of Guadalajara before leaving for Europe with Manchester United.

All of this generated a feeling of gratitude in Chicharito Hernández, who does not usually speak much to the Mexican press, and he took the microphone at the press conference after the game that his team won 3-1 to thank his new club.

“They asked me if I wanted to talk, I’m trying to find the words, because I’m like this. A person close to me sent me two photos of the operation and when the injury happened. I am happy, it is a very gratifying moment because they are very hard moments, very lonely, but very enriching, to be honest. And there is no better way to do it than at home, to do it with this institution, to do it by beating one of the most important clubs in the country,” explained the red and white player.

Regarding how he felt on the field, the forward made it clear that for him it was enough to feel like a footballer again, since he is aware that he is not at 100%, although he will work hard to be there very soon.

“The word thank you is very short, I am completely committed to the team, to everyone who makes up this institution and to all the ChivaHermanos, because today I felt like a footballer again,” he explained.

“In all areas I try to grow. We must accept evolution, because it suddenly emerges from a place we do not expect. I try to give the coach the best tools, now I believe that I am a player who is not 100% and who is going to work to be 100%,” he acknowledged.

Finally, the former player of big clubs such as Manchester United, Sevilla and Real Madrid, among others, expressed his short-term wishes for his career and for Chivas.

“The championships and the institution continuing to grow. Let this be a turning point for many kids to have the career they want. I will have to play, I will have to be part of this extraordinary team with a resounding result that helped me play again,” he concluded.
