Authorities reported that Masked gunmen in Seattle shot dozens of times into an apartment building early Wednesday morning, narrowly injuring a mother and her young son while they slept.
The shooting occurred around 2:40 a.m. in the 9400 block of 27th Avenue Southwest in West Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.
He surveillance video obtained by FOX13 Seattle shows three armed men in black hoodies firing their weapons indiscriminately in a grassy yard, hitting the apartment building and breaking windows.
The responding agents learned that The mother and her son were sleeping in the same bed when the shots went through their bedroom wallthe police said.
The mother was shot twice in the legs.while the child was unharmed.
A neighbor told FOX13 he was asleep when he heard dozens of gunshots.
“I thought I was dreaming at the time and waited for the sirens to go off and fell asleep again,” said the neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous. “I feel sad because this neighborhood is very safe, so I’m not sure what happened. Hopefully, she is okay.”
Investigators found dozens of bullet casings and recovered several stray bullets at the scene.
Details about the three suspects were not immediately released.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.the police said.
