David Faitelson assures that ex-footballers are envious of him – La Opinion

For David Faitelson, journalist and soccer analyst for the TUDN network, one of the main reasons why controversy arose with Rafael Puente Jr.coach and now soccer analyst for the same television network, was because many of the former soccer players and coaches are envious of him.

This point of view arose in the talk he had with The opinion, to know the version of one of the main sources of this controversy that has divided public opinion on social networks and where some sympathize with the attitude shown by the controversial journalist and others with the one he directed not long ago to the UNAM Pumas, among other Liga MX teams.

In this sense, Faitelson said to the express question that this type of controversies bothered the company where he provides his services and that he was not used to these discussions and controversies where there were personal disqualifications.

“Not at all, at Televisa and at TUDN they have given me all the support and we have talked about trying to find a way not to disqualify another colleague, but nothing more. What I said and I understand that generally the footballer or the former footballer, as well as coaches, those who are at the work tables have towards me, not only Rafa, but in general, have a certain envy or even anger towards me.

A lot of anger and envy

David, who gained a lot of prominence on the TV Azteca network in the early 90s for his color notes on soccer games and his investigative journalism, spoke about this type of attitude that he has seen from former players and directors. technicians who are dedicated to the analysis tables on television and especially in the company where they currently provide their services, TUDN

“Courage, because I work in football, I live from football, I have responsibilities in football games, and well, maybe there is anger, I feel that way, maybe I’m wrong because I feel that there is a certain envy, at the end of the day, those types of situations happen. Because I review what happened over and over again and I think I was clearly provoked and my mistake was reacting that way.”

Regarding the point of view of the football union that has now assumed roles in television journalism and written that they could minimize their opinions for not having played soccer professionally like them, the journalist who raised controversy for his arrival at the Televisa company, ruled out that possibility and stated that the only thing he demands is respect for his career.

“I think we all kick the ball since they were little and they are fortunate to have done it professionally. But nothing happens, all I’m saying is that people have to be aware that nothing was invented. I do not invent controversies, I do not dedicate myself to that, I am not going to create a character, that is who I am and you have known me for many years (addressing the reporter, I insist, I do not invent characters).

And he added on this controversial topic: “if in the heat of the conversation there was first a provocation where they told me things about me having a sterile conversation, well that bothered me, I reacted badly. Obviously, I should have laughed and that’s it, nothing happens, I should have taken things from whoever came and nothing would have happened, but unfortunately I had a difficult reaction. I also said that the Rayados coach was selling smoke and they also got upset again and told me that I’m not telling him to his face, but the issue is not that, but rather the disqualification of my work.”

He will ask Rafael Puente Jr. for no more personal disqualifications

In David Faitelson’s presentation about the conflict he had last Tuesday with Puente Jr., and which continues to cause something to talk about, he stated that he will seek to dialogue with his ideological adversary to reach an agreement and try not to incur personal disqualifications again. in favor of a more accessible coexistence within the company itself, considering that they are co-workers, not friends.

“Look, I don’t have any problem with Rafa, I think we can continue working, we are not friends, obviously, but there must be respect. I would hope to be able to talk to him, I have not been able to do so, we have not called each other, because we have been involved in other programs. But it is a fact that I have to talk to him and simply ask him not to disqualify ourselves personally.”

Faitelson assured that the key to everything will be greater respect within the controversial and complicated issues that arise in football and where he has been immersed in defending his ideas, mainly with former players such as Ricardo Peláez, the late Tomás Boy, among others when he was on the ESPN network and now as one of the stellar opinions of TUDN

“He should not disqualify me as a journalist and I am not going to disqualify him as a coach or an expert on the soccer field, let’s not disqualify each other, I think we can discuss the fact and that’s it, let’s not make it personal, and I hope he understands.” “I’m going to try to understand and carry it out and learn through this that I can’t react like what happened a couple of nights ago.”

He is not afraid

David Faitelson also denied that there is any kind of fear or apprehension that his style of journalism and generation of controversy could put him in danger at a time when insecurity seems to be overwhelming many sectors of society in general.

“The truth is that I don’t live thinking about that, I dedicate myself to sports, it is a trivial topic, a topic that is so simple, so simple, so playful, so banal. Fear? Unfortunately, those who are looking for some type of popular election have it right now, and the situation is terrible, but I’m not. We are part of a game called football, and nothing more, people have to understand it that way and we take it with professionalism, seriously and we only talk about football.”

Finally, he ruled out that within the company where he provides his services there is a bad environment, perhaps a bad locker room, as the players manage when the human relationship is only endured and in this sense he said that: “I think that in this company I have recovered to my pack as I had at the time on TV Azteca, I have a great relationship with Marco Cancino, with the veterans Antonio de Valdez, Enrique Burak, with Guillermo Schultz, he is almost my brother.

With women, also a super atmosphere, with Mari Fer, with Valeria Marín, with former players like Marc Crossas, with Tito Villa, who spent a few days in Amsterdam and met their extraordinary children.”
