The rapper Dr. Drea key figure in hip-hop becoming a musical empire, was finally honored this Tuesday with his star at the legendary Hollywood walk of fame.
At the ceremony, the musician was accompanied by other important figures of the genre, such as Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Doggwho was a guest speaker and dedicated a rap to his friend.
On a more serious note, Snoop Dogg described Dr. Dre as “his teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector and, most importantly, a good friend.”
When it was Dr. Dre’s turn at the microphone, he took the opportunity to express his gratitude to his colleagues and his fans.
“I am incredibly grateful for your support over the years. Most of us have grown up together. And at almost 60 years old, they’re still rocking with me, and I really appreciate it. Thank you so much. Which is really good, because I’m not done yet. “You better believe there is much more to come,” he assured.
“Devoting my entire soul and being to my passion for hip-hop led me down the path to an incredible career, and I have been lucky enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do“he added.
“I would like to thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who felt that I was finally ready to follow in the footsteps of Ice Cube, Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, who had their star before me, for some damn reason!”, he criticized with humor Dr. Dre.
At 59 years old, the iconic producer and businessman is one of the most illustrious figures in Compton, California, a city synonymous with the genre for industry connoisseurs.
