Joan Laporta declared this Thursday that the FC Barcelona wants to return to American territory next summer for their preseason tour.
The news was given during an event to present a collaboration with the Spanish automobile brand Cupra.
“In the ‘Summer Tour’ that we will do, if we finally go to the United States, we will also take Cupra. We can help a lot (to promote the brand), because for us the American market is also important and Americans “freak out” with European cars. Surely there will be successes,” said the leader of the Barça team.
This Thursday, FC Barcelona and the vehicle brand renewed an alliance that began in 2019, and through which the automobile company will continue to be, on the one hand, the official automotive and mobility partner, and, on the other, the official car of the club until 2029.
Barcelona’s past “Summer Tour” in the United States
It seems that this preseason in North American territory is becoming a tradition, since it also took place last year, on an exciting tour where they faced four high-ranking rivals.
In Dallas they faced Real Madrid, whom they beat 3-0, with goals from Dembelé, Fermín and Ferran Torres.
In Los Angeles they fell against Arsenal 5-3with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ferran Torres.
Finally, they closed their tour with a victory by the minimum difference against AC Milanwith a bit of Anu Fati.
Barcelona fell to America on its last visit to the US.
The last match that the Barça club played in the United States was last December, when they faced the America of the Liga MX.
