Georgia man kidnapped, burned and cut a woman when she left work – La Opinion

The family of A Georgia woman reported that she was kidnapped, burned and cut by an attacker while trying to leave work.

The woman, in her 60s, was leaving work at an accounting firm on Montreal Road in Tucker on Wednesday when she was attacked, family members told DeKalb County police.

The exact time the incident began is unclear, but the business closes around 5:30 p.m. and the victim’s family believes it occurred shortly after closing, WXIA reported.

The family said a man approached the woman and demanded she let him into the business. She refused, so The suspect forced her to get into his vehicle and drive to an ATM to withdraw money..

During this incident, the man cut the woman all over her body, including her face. At some point she also burned his face, the family said.

The man then forced the woman to drive back to her work, from where she managed to escape.

The woman was able to drive a few hundred meters down Montreal Road to DeKalb County Fire Station 22, where only one crew member was awake, according to WXIA.

The victim made enough noise in the parking lot to get the attention of the crew member, who woke up fire Capt. Shaneqwa Eafford and other officials.

The fire station contacted police, who were sent to the area around 9 p.m. regarding the reported kidnapping and assault.

Eafford said at a news conference that the entire team was at the station, including his ambulance, when the woman showed up.

“We had a DeKalb Fire Rescue transport unit at the house that was able to take her right away, without waiting,” Eafford said.

“It was a blessing for her to be able to come to us and for us to be here too,” he added.

Police said detectives have been working to find evidence to help identify and locate the suspect.

The victim’s family stated that The woman remains in the hospital, having undergone at least one surgery since the attack.
