Gerardo “Tata” Martino is close to elimination from the Concacaf Champions League and the Argentine revealed who the favorite is to win the competition and it is from Liga MX.
The Argentine stated that Inter Miami has a difficult path even if they qualify against Monterrey.
“In this type of competition, if we have the possibility of going to Monterrey, Tigres or the MLS champion will probably come, and If you are lucky enough to pass that, you will get America, which is the favorite in my opinion,” commented the Miami coach.
América achieved a 4-0 victory against New England Revolution in the first leg of the quarterfinals and looks like a great candidate to win the title.
Tata Martino affirms that wear and tear takes its toll
After the 2-1 defeat against Monterrey, Martino highlighted that the wear and tear they have suffered has taken its toll during the season.
“Having a reduction in the roster is not appropriate and I don’t know if I should attribute it exclusively to the wear and tear of the preseason trips. Regarding Messi, the Argentine coach continues to affirm that he is recovering, but that there was a very big risk for the first leg.
