“Grease” actress Susan Buckner dies at 72 – El Diario NY

The actress Susan Bucknerwho played Patty Simcox in the film ‘Grease’, died at the age of 72. Although her death occurred on May 2, her publicist, Melissa Berthier, by decision of her family, recently announced the news in a statement sent to CNN.

In the notification, the artist’s representative indicated that Buckner “She died peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones.”, in addition to remembering his “effervescent spirit, kindness and “generosity”, which, in his words, inspired and created a “positive impact” on numerous generations of artists and fans.

“Susan will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. “Her effervescent spirit will continue to inspire generations of artists and fans alike,” Berthier’s statement read.

In ‘Grease, Buckner’, when she was 25 years old, played a popular Rydell High School cheerleader and friend of the protagonist Sandy, played by Olivia Newton-John -who died in 2022-. Passionate about cinema, the actress participated in numerous productions such as ‘The Amazing Howard Hughes’, ‘The Love Boat’, ‘Police Academy 6’ and ‘Deadly Blessing’.

The family Susan leaves behind are her two children, Adam Josephs and Samantha; her four grandchildren, her sister Linda, her daughter-in-law Noel Josephs, her son-in-law Adam Mansfield and her partner, Al.

Who was Susan Buckner?

Before dedicating herself to the audiovisual world, Susan Buckner, who was born in Seattle on January 28, 1952, was Miss Washington in 1971 and represented the state in the Miss America pageant the following year.

Buckner used her beauty pageant experience to carve a niche for herself in the entertainment industry and became a member of The Golddiggers, an all-female singing and dancing group that appeared on ‘The Dean Martin Show.’

Restless and a sports fan, in addition to being a dancer and swimmer, she was also part of the variety show ‘The Brady Bunch Hour’.

Although he continued acting into the 1980s, his character in ‘Grease’ was what defined his career.

Later in life, Buckner stepped away from show business to raise her two children. During those years, the actress decided to keep a low profile and directed children’s theater at a Florida elementary school and taught dance as an instructor at a gym in Coral Gables.
