Last night, Friday, April 5, the Ecuadorian police broke into the Mexican Embassy in Quito to take away the former vice president of Ecuador, Jorge Glas.

One of the people who was there during the raid by the country’s police forces was Roberto Canseco, who tried to prevent them from entering the embassy and taking Jorge Glas.

In the video circulating on the networks, Canseco Martínez, who was outside the Mexican embassy, ​​ran behind a vehicle in which the former Ecuadorian vice president was allegedly being transported.

Roberto Canseco tried to obstruct the police officers; however, he was subdued. A uniformed officer prevented the Mexican diplomat from approaching the unit and took him away from the place.

Although he escaped from the officer, the Mexican again tried to obstruct the truck’s path, but another police officer – who was dressed in yellow – threatened Roberto Canseco by grabbing his hands behind his back.

After being subdued, the Mexican fell to the ground and tried to get up. but two police officers prevented him from doing so. This while the unit that apparently was carrying Jorge Glas was leaving the place.

Later, Roberto Canseco explained that he hit the ground and that he tried to prevent the Ecuadorian police officers from entering the Embassy like criminals.

“I hit the ground and physically… I tried to prevent them from entering like criminals, they raided the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador. This is not possible, it cannot be. “It’s crazy,” the Mexican told the media.

Canseco Martínez expressed his concern for the integrity of Jorge Glas, since he mentioned that they could kill him.

“I am very worried, because they can kill him. There is no basis for doing this. […] This is totally outside the norm and they are doing it because he is a persecuted person, as we can see,” he declared.

Likewise, the Mexican diplomat pointed out that he put his life at risk by defending Mexico’s sovereignty after the police raid.

“We didn’t see what was happening, we were about to leave and suddenly we found police, thieves, who entered the embassy at night. This is totally unacceptable. Physically, at the risk of my life, I defended the honor and sovereignty of my country. This cannot be,” she added.
