On April 14, 2023 Metallica will publish “72 Seasons”, a new album with twelve songs. It will be the twelfth study of his career, which will come six years after the previous “Hardwired… To Self Destruct”, reported EFE. This was announced by the band on its official website this Monday, November 28.
He also announced that it will name his next tour of Europe and North America, which will also begin in April 2023. They will do so in Amsterdam and end in Mexico City in September 2024, where the American group will offer four concerts.
Produced by Greg Fidelman together with the members of the band Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield, they already presented the first single “Lux Aeterna”.
The repertoire will be completed by the songs “72 Seasons”, “Shadows Follow”, “Screaming Suicide” and “Sleepwalk My Life Away”. There will also be: “You Must Burn!”, “Crown of Barbed Wire”, “Chasing Light”, “If Darkness Had a Son”, “Too Far Gone?”, “Room of Mirrors” and “Inamorata”.
To present it, in each city Metallica will offer different shows, both by repertoire and by the artists who will act as opening acts.
The M72 World Tour will pass through 22 cities, in addition to Amsterdam and Mexico City, including Madrid, Paris, Hamburg, Chicago and Munich.
A percentage of the proceeds from each entry will go to Metallica’s “All Within My Hands” foundation, whose goal is to help create sustainable communities based on education and the fight against hunger.
The M72 World Tour will feature a new circular stage design. Despite this, it once again includes the so-called “Metallica Snake Pit”, a space in the center of the stage from which to enjoy both the show and its sound in the most vivid way.
