Oleksandr Gvozdyk advises David Benavídez to forget about Canelo: “His next fight is with me” – La Opinion

Oleksandr Gvozdyk advised David Benavídez to forget about Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez and focus on the fight that both will star in on June 22 and where the interim 175-pound title of the World Boxing Council (WBC) will be at stake.

In an interview with BoxingScene, Gvozdyk commented that Benavídez He’s a great fighter and hopes he’s not overlooking him. by continuing to mention Canelo Álvarez and not talking about his next duel, since the Ukrainian thinks that would make things easier for him.

“Benavídez is a great fighter, but his next fight is with me, not against Canelo. If I were him, I would focus on my next fight, not on Canelo, who is scheduled to fight against (Jaime) Munguía,” he said.

“If they’re overlooking me, I hope that’s not the case, but if they are, I appreciate it. If I’m being overlooked, that’s fine. That will make everything easier for me. They say he is a monster, but they have to give him more chances to survive,” he added.

In the latest interviews, David Benavídez has focused on criticizing Canelo Álvarez for avoiding the duel with him and choosing Jaime Munguía as his opponent to put his undisputed 168-pound championship on the line. Furthermore, Turki Al-Alshikh proposed that if the Mexican-American emerges victorious from the duel with the Ukrainian will be the challenger to the winner of the duel between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbievwho will compete for the undisputed 175-pound championship.
