I’m still a young coach, but I think this is the best decision for my future. I have taken my time and I am sure of it,” said the 42-year-old coach, in statements reported by the newspaper “Bild”.

He revealed that last week he had a “good conversation” with the club’s leadership, in which he informed them that he wanted to continue at Bayer Leverkusen, and that this morning he informed the team of his decision.
