Announced weeks ago, “A great honor” thus becomes the seventeenth studio album by the actress who, in addition to paying tribute to Mexico, also celebrates one of the genres with the greatest impact and growth in recent years: the Mexican regional.

From the hand of Jimmy Humblefrom Rancho Humilde, as well as the producer Edgar Rodriguezfrom Yellow Room, the singer immerses herself in the musical management of the neighboring country of the United States with a large number of new songs as well as the reimagining of one of the most important compositions of her career: “Mexican Love”.

It’s the perfect circle of why I’m singing regional right now. It is a genre that evokes nostalgia in me. It gets into the DNA of the Mexican, that this style, this sound, the chords provoke a catharsis.”

The controversy behind “Amor a la Mexicana”

According to the actress, the new version of “Mexican love” is one of the best he has done because with it he celebrates the culture, through music, of Mexico before the world.

Despite the importance of the topic for Thaliathe reimagining of “Mexican love” quickly became the most talked-about song on the singer’s new album. And according to a large number of users, this classic was “ruined” with the sole intention of aligning it with the Mexican regional: “love the Mexican way and I just need to do it in English”, “better dedicate yourself to pop from” devastating.”

In addition to this topic, “A great honor” also includes the new collaboration between Thalia and Firm Group“Te Va A Doler”, which was performed by the same singer during the opening of the Latin American Music Awards last April 25. As revealed by the artist, this song includes a “little” of the group’s regional style as well as its interpretive musical style.

The material is also complemented by the recent collaboration of Thalia with the Mexican singer Ángela Aguilar, “Troca”, as well as the song that “inaugurated” the Mexican’s stage within the Mexican regional: “Choro”, next to Estilo Sin Limite.
