This news was revealed through the account of instagram of Jason Momoawho published this nice image in which he is accompanied by his co-star Jack Black and the rest of the film’s team. The text on the photo says the following: «We’re finishing Minecraft! Aloha to all my team and the cast. An incredible movie experience, it was one of the greatest moments of my life. We laugh too much. I love this country. New Zealand, You are magical. “Mahalo for letting me record here,” confirming that recording took place mostly in New Zealand. The rest of the post contains various images and videos of Momoa giving gifts to the good people of the country.
Jason Momoa is a successful actor, known for his performances in Aquaman and game of Thrones. It had been confirmed months ago that she would star in the Minecraft film, but what excited fans was the announcement that the other protagonist would be Jack Black. The legendary actor and rocker recently gave an excellent performance as Bowser in the animated film Super Mario Bros. According to his statements, apparently he will play the same steve, so he will surely steal all our hearts. Momoa and Black are joined by other talented Hollywood stars, such as Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Jennifer Coolidge and many more.
Another curious fact is that a few days ago they also leaked some peculiar images from the recording set of the Minecraft movie, in which we could see a square tree, identical to the ones we can find within the game. This caused even more speculation among fans, since, although we already knew that the film was going to be in Live Action, this tree confirmed that they will try to replicate the game’s characteristic square art style. And that is something that, depending on how it is executed, can turn out either very well or very badly.
Many people believed that it would be a biopic about the creation of Minecraft (similar to the recent Minecraft movie. Tetris) but this leak confirms that much of the plot will occur within the game world. It should be noted that we still know absolutely nothing about the history of this film. It is not even known what role Jason Momoa has in this one. This is a truly unique project and, due to the huge popularity of this video game around the world, we just hope it results in a good product. The Minecraft movie will be released in theaters next April 4, 2025so we wouldn’t be surprised if they release a trailer in the coming months
