Isaac Cruz Sr., father and trainer of Pitbull Cruz, expressed that They do not rule out unifying titles with any of the champions of 140 pounds, but he stated that he would like to fight with Devin Haney or Subriel Matías – owners of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) belts, respectively – because they are two good fights for the Mexican.
In statements to Izquierdazo, Pitbull Cruz’s father assured that They have never chosen rivals and that is why they are open to facing whoever they put before them. At the table, he also commented that they plan to stay at super lightweight for now.
“It could be with Devin Haney, why not with Teófimo López or with the Puerto Rican (Subriel Matías). We are open at 135 or 140, whoever doesn’t like the Pitbull, there is a Pitbull for anyone. We do not rule out a unification with any boxer who wants to get into the ring with Pitbull. Subriel has said a lot that he wants the fight, as I have always said, Subriel will be very good, but I think that a fight with him would be very good. Because by beating him we beat a good one and we would be even better,” he said.
“Right now we are going to stay at 140 and why not return, we have no problem returning to 135 as long as there is a good offer and it is a world championship fight. Because now as champions we have the right to demand that it be a rival that gives him the opportunity as champion.
