Authorities reported that A 10-year-old boy was rescued Wednesday after becoming trapped in the roof chimney of his Massachusetts home.
The boy climbed out of a second-story window and onto the roof of his home in Whitman, about 25 miles south of Boston, around 4:15 p.m., a spokesperson for the city’s fire department told WCVB.
The boy then climbed down to the top of the chimney and was unable to free himself, authorities said.
Whitman Fire Department crews were able to quickly remove the child from the chimneywho was not injured.
The boy’s relieved father said he was at work when he received a phone call from his other son, who said he saw his brother climb onto the roof.
The father immediately called 911 and ran home. But when he arrived, the boy had already been freed and was back on the ground.
