Rimas Sports, the new sports agency that was founded by the Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny who was seeking to merge the world of professional ball and entertainment, something that Roc Nation began to do at the time with the help of the American rapper Jay Z, is experiencing complicated times due to the sanctions it received from the Major League Baseball Players Union.
The agency was found to have violated regulations held by the MLBPA, according to information provided by Brittany Ghiroli from The Athletic site.
April 2023 was the date of the launch of the agency by the Puerto Rican artist and his managerRimas Sports had the clear objective, the goal of being able to offer the best opportunities to young talents from Latin America who aimed to shine and reach the top of the Major Leagues.

Problems began for the agency
Shortly after the agency launched, there was something that caught MLBPA’s attention and it made quite a noise so they immediately took action. The players’ union received evidence that Rimas Sports was planning to offer improper benefits to players who wanted its services, in an attempt to convince them to join the new company, according to ESPN.
Section 5 of the MLBPA agent rule book leaves it as assumed at all times that no agent “shall provide, cause to be provided or promise to provide money or anything else of value to any player, or any person related or associated with such player” for the purpose of persuading him to stay or leave a sports agency.
The research is bearing fruit
The MLBPA’s subsequent investigation appears to have uncovered complaints that revolved around around several employees, most of whom were not certified as agents, but were in the process of attempting to obtain agent accreditation. Those employees are expected to have their requests rejected, according to information from The Athletic.
William Arroyo, the main baseball agent for Rimas Sports, saw his MLBPA certification voided after the investigation carried out by the union into the claims of agents other than Rimas, that the Puerto Rican singer’s agency was offering money, cars as well as many more incentives to be able to convince the athletes by all means to to sign their signature and reach an agreement with Rimas. Both Arroyo and Rimas have the right to appeal this, but so far no statement has been made on the matter by those affected.
Jonathan Miranda, president of the agency in question, reaffirmed that Rimas Sports is his own project independent and is not part of Rimas Entertainment, the independent record label, the same one with which the Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny currently has a contract.
