The Canarinha team will seek to win the tournament again since the 2019 edition. Brazil seeks to become the third team to win 10 or more Copa América trophies.
Absences from the Brazil team
There are several names that are among the big absences from the five-time world champion team for this tournament.
One of the great absentees will be Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder has been harshly criticized for his performance at Manchester United.
Casemiro, who was an undisputed starter in the national team during the last calls, was left out.
Another Brazilian who plays in the Premier League and was left out of the squad is Richarlison.
The striker was Canarinha’s number nine in Qatar 2022, but his time at Tottenham has not been the most outstanding. He has 11 goals and 4 assists in 28 games played.
Gabriel Jesús was also left out, relegated to the Arsenal bench and constant injuries have sidelined him from Mikel Arteta’s team.
Matheus Cunha and Bremer are two other notable casualties in Brazil’s squad for the South American tournament.
Which players stand out in Brazil’s squad?
One of the names that will debut in the tournament is Endrick, the 18-year-old pearl of Real Madrid.
The young Brazilian from Palmeiras will debut in the Copa América. This Thursday he scored a goal in the Brazilian club’s 5-0 victory over Liverpool in the Copa Libertadores.
Éder Militao is one of the great comebacks after recovering from torn cruciate ligaments with Real Madrid. The Brazilian center back has seen minutes in the last few games and is showing 100% for this tournament.
