Sergio Checo Pérez set the eighth best time in the last general practices before the Pole Position of the Australian Grand Prix that will be held in the city of Melbourne.

The Mexican driver stated that there were several complications and that they have work to do before the qualifying test that will be this Saturday.

Checo Pérez has six victories and 37 podiums in the premier category, two of them this year, in which he finished second in both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

“I think, however, that we are in a good position as far as the car is concerned with a view to the season, so we should be strong with a view to (qualifying) tomorrow. We need to square everything, since it is important to qualify as high as possible,” highlighted the best Mexican driver in history.

“The degradation seems quite high in long runs; that’s something we have to take a look at; and it will be interesting to see what the best strategy will be this weekend,” explained ‘Checo’ after free practice this Friday at the Albert Park circuit.
