It was of little or no use to Chivas del Guadalajara that “Chicharito” Hernández started their first game in Liga MX, after 14 years of not doing so, since in the final count Guadalajara fell 2-1 with León. But León was the one who changed the course of the match by scoring the first goal from a penalty in the 32nd minute through Uruguayan Federico Viñas on a penalty committed by Jesús Orozco Chiquete.
That goal put Chivas against the wall and from then on they were never able to recover, generating the anger of the fans to the point that the Mexican-American Cade Cowell was booed. To make matters worse, in the 82nd minute, José Alvarado made it 2-0, leaving Chivas with his heart open to the sun, and not even Roberto “Piojo” Alvarado’s last-minute goal saved Chivas from the disaster.
