Lupita Jones had stood out for her work in the beauty pageant and had brought several Mexican representatives to the top 10 of Miss Universe. However, the organization decided to change course and bet on a new vision of her after having held that position for 30 years, since in November 2023 she left the payroll.
For her part, Cynthia de la Vega assumed her new position with enthusiasm and determination, promising to lead Mexico to new achievements in the field of beauty. Despite the criticism and controversy, the organization is confident that this new stage will be fruitful and successful.
“This conference was called precisely to talk about the work. I know there is a lot of concern about other issues, and let’s find another time to talk about that (the impeachment of Cynthia de la Vega). For me it has always been very important to responsibly fulfill each of the projects in which I am involved. And, in this case, The Lionesses. I believe that it is up to each person to commit to their full capacity and carry out a project, that is what it is about,” he said in front of the media.
The 56-year-old Mexican added in front of reporters that: “This (professional) commitment is to communicate and share with all women, and also with men, women are queens, we always have that crown on our heads and we have to walk with pride, humility and respect towards all other people . And those characters are full of those values and that is what we are going to communicate. And these lionesses (referring to her co-stars) are also queens and that is what we are going to communicate on stage.”
