Madonna files a new class action lawsuit for starting her shows late – El Diario NY


Madonna has once again become the target of controversy after a group of “fans” of the artist sued her for having started one of her shows late in the city of Washington DC in previous weeks.

According to the class action lawsuit, filed by Elizabeth Halper-Asefi, Mary Conoboy and Nestor Monte Jr.the “Like A Virgin” singer, started her show two hours later than established during her concerts on December 18 and 19, 2023 at the Capital One Arena.

At this event, the American singer, when she came out on stage, joked about this much-discussed event and then apologized and immediately retracted it.

“I’m sorry I’m late… no, I’m not sorry, it’s just who I am… I’m always late.”

Madonna’s famous delays

Given this fact, the class action lawsuit accuses the artist and the organizing company, Live Nation, of “deceptive commercial practices, breach of contract for not starting at 8:30 p.m., and misrepresentation.”

In addition to the above, the plaintiffs indicated that they felt “deceived” by said delay in addition to not being able to enjoy the full show. Likewise, they accused that the singer carried out “playback” during the show: “in essence, Madonna and Live Nation are a consumer’s worst nightmare.”

This is not the first time that the “Vogue” singer has become the target of a lawsuit for leaving the stage late. At the end of last year, two “followers” ​​of the film director also sued her for the same reasons as her recent lawsuit at her presentation at the Barclays Center in New York.

In addition to the similarity of accusations, the plaintiffs pointed out that the singer’s “late” concert caused them to have to pay more money for the private transportation they had to take to get home. Finally, they also accused Madonna of the difficulty they had getting up the next day to go to work.
