Matthew Perry’s X account hacked to carry out scams – El Diario NY

The official X account (formerly Twitter) of the deceased actor Matthew Perry was hacked in order to carry out a scam to raise moneywith the promise that it would be used to help people with addictions, the NME site reported.

Through a statement on Instagram, the royal charity group asked everyone not to access the new link published on the X account @MatthewPerry, as it had been corrupted by hackers who created an external web page, similar in design, to request cryptocurrency donations.

“We have received reports that Matthew’s official X page has been hacked and directs users to a fraudulent site soliciting donations via cryptocurrency.

Please do not donate to this site or share fraudulent posts on social networks. “MatthewPerryFoundation.org (accessed from Instagram account) is the only website associated with the Foundation and we only accept donations through this site,” the post read.

This organization also requested that the account be reported and reported, as well as other possible manipulation or impersonation attempts.

It should be noted that the foundation’s Instagram account began raising money after the actor’s sudden death in October of last year.
