Óscar Valdez does not rule out Venado López, but prefers a unification fight with O’Shaquie Foster – La Opinion

Óscar Valdez stated that His priority right now is to get a unification fight with O’Shaquie Fostersuper featherweight monarch of the World Boxing Council (WBC), but does not rule out a confrontation with his compatriot Luis Alberto ‘Venado’ López.

In an interview with Izquierdazo, Valdez mentioned that the reason why he prefers the duel with Foster is because he wants to win the WBC title and he made it clear that he is not afraid of any fighter, which is why he was open to listening to any negotiation on the part of the Venado López team.

“Whatever happens in the fight between the Vaquero and his rival at 135 pounds, I would look to face a Foster who is the WBC champion. It is the dream of every fighter to be champion of the WBC, the WBO, to unify and have all the titles, the sky is the limit, I want to look for the biggest thing possible and that is what we are going to try to achieve. If I try to fight a Deer they will probably say that I am going around Foster, and if I go with Foster they will say that I am going around the Deer. I say it broadly, I fight whoever, be it the Deer, be it Foster, the Cowboy himself, I will fight with whoever,” he said.

“If I have tried to make something clear, it is that I am not afraid to face any fighter, boxing is what I love the most, I face anyone. The reason Foster has been mentioned is because he has the green title (WBC), it is nothing personal with him or any other rival. There is still no negotiation, if there has been one, because they have not told me, but whenever there are negotiations I am present. El Venado is a great champion at 126 pounds, he is looking to go up to 130 and look to fight me (…) It is a fight that can be done easily because it is with Top Rank. “I am open to listening to any negotiation, the offer that is most convenient is where we are going to go, but until now there have been no talks,” he added.

Óscar Valdez comes from facing Liam Wilson at the beginning of April in a competitive fight that was decided in the seventh round, after the Mexican landed a powerful left hook that upset the Australian and With a barrage of blows he finished defeating his rival by technical knockout.

In the ring interview after his victory, the interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion stated that His intention was to unify his belt with the champions O’Shaquie Foster or Venado Lópezbut now the balance is tipping towards the American side.
