Toluca tied 1-1 with Juárez this Friday on matchday 11 of the MX League and one of those identified was Alexis Vega, who was substituted in the 70th minute, and without showing good football.
Renato Paiva, Toluca coach, pointed out that the Mexican attacker is not inspired and that putting Vega as ‘9’ was to see the players’ fitness levels.
“Alexis Vega left because he hasn’t been very inspired. There is a lot of talk about why Alexis plays ‘9’ and ‘Gacelo’ doesn’t; I have to manage moments of form. ‘Gacelo’ started the championship as a starter, played and had a worse streak of games. In that we have to find options because Robert Morales is injured,” Paiva commented.
Toluca took the lead on the scoreboard in the 16th minute with a goal from Jesús Ricardo Ángulo. Juárez tied with a goal from Aitor García in the 39th minute that sealed the 1-1 draw at the Benito Juárez Olympic Stadium.

Paiva took the opportunity to leave a message that footballers will not play just by name and will have to earn their place on the field.

How is Toluca in the table after the draw against Juárez?
The Red Devils of Toluca are located in fifth place in the table and ended their streak of three consecutive victories.
Toluca could lose fifth place if Tigres manages to defeat the Águilas del América. Tigres has 18 units after 10 games played in Liga MX.
Renato Paiva’s club will face Pumas next Sunday at the Nemesio Díaz Stadium.
