Salomón Rondón continues to score and assumes the sole lead in goals in the Clausura Tournament – La Opinión


He Pachuca achieved an important victory on Saturday against the Tigres de UANL (0-3), with Salomon Rondon in a stellar plan showing the path to victory for the Tuzos who had accumulated 14 years without being able to keep the three points at the home of the feline team.

The Venezuelan forward scored his eighth goal so far this season in the Mexican championship to become the sole leader of the scoring table of the 2024 Clausura Tournament after having played the first 14 games.

“I am very happy for the personal, but what matters is the collective”commented Salomon Rondon in an interview after the match that was defined by the goals of the Venezuelan in the 66th minute, Nelson Deossa (m.68) and Jesús Hernández (m.85).

On Pachuca’s social networks they uploaded an interview with the Venezuelan scorer Salomón Rondón after the victory achieved during their visit to the Tigres de la UANL.

“We have been doing things well and we needed this game to react again in the league and get into the privileged positions”added the experienced Venezuelan attacker who had just scored three goals this week against Herediano (0-5) in the Concachampions.

Regarding the duel against the Tigres, the top scorer in the history of the Venezuelan National Team highlighted that the Tuzos were aware of the difficulty of the match but were confident about the good time they were having.

“We knew it was going to be a complicated game, we know what the Tigres are, we knew what we had been doing in the Concachampions but in the league we were not doing so well. This match has been a turning point for us, it has been fundamental because of its forcefulness”highlighted the scorer.

The victory has allowed Pachuca to climb to fifth place in the classification in the 2024 Clausura Tournament where they have 25 points, remaining one of the positions that give direct access to the Liguilla. Ahead of them are the Águilas del América, Rayados de Monterrey, Toluca and Cruz Azul.

Focused on the Concachampions

Despite having resolved the first leg of the Champions Cup quarterfinals against Herediano with a resounding victory (0-5), Salomón Rondón points out that Pachuca cannot be trusted ahead of the return match that will take place. They will play this Wednesday at home.

“No rival is easy. In football, no one gives you anything and they will surely come hungry and eager to turn the tie around.”considered the Venezuelan attacker who has two hat-tricks in three games played in this competition.

“We have to win at home, more than anything because if we advance to the next round we can close the next home tie”Rondón pointed out, showing that they are going for victory against the Costa Rican team this week.
