Suspect arrested in Philadelphia for stabbing a woman and a one-year-old baby – La Opinion

Philadelphia police reported that they arrested a woman who was identified as a person of interest in two stabbing incidents that were reported separately on Saturdayone of which included a one-year-old baby.

The first stabbing took place around 8 a.m. in the 1300 block of Chancellor Street in Center City. At that time, police believe the alleged suspect, Takeira Hester, 29, attacked a 24-year-old woman and stabbed her twice before fleeing.

A few hours later, Hester approached two babies in a stroller and stabbed a one-year-old boy in the arm. before fleeing the Rittenhouse Square section of downtown.

In a press conference reported by NBC News, Philadelphia police indicated that the attacks appeared to be random.

“This criminal just runs, quickly stabs and runs. It seemed like this woman just ran up to them, they didn’t say anything, completely at random, she tried to stab both boys but she only got one of them in each arm,” Philadelphia Police Capt. Frank Banford said.

Before the stabbings, police said Hester was arrested on aggravated assault charges. Besides, He has a warrant out of New York City, also for aggravated assault..

Detectives are currently investigating his ties to the Philadelphia area.
