Steve Wynn and Thomas Peterffy could make history in AspenColorado. The two businessmen are in talks to buy a mansion for $110 million dollars, although negotiations began for $127 million dollars.
According to ‘The Wall Street Journal’, Wynn and Peterffy will buy the mansion from professional hockey player Patrick Dovigi. What is most striking about the transaction is that if the purchase contract is sealed, it would become the most expensive house in Aspen. Dovigi bought this mansion in 2021 for $72.5 million dollars.
It is unknown why Wynn and Peterffy want to buy a mansion together.because until now their relationship seems to be only friendly. What can be assumed is that they will buy the home to turn it into a lodging from which to make money.
It must be remembered that Wynn was key in the resurgence of the Las Vegas Strip during the 90s. It may be that he intends to turn Aspen into a flashier resort town.
Aspen’s most expensive sale to date was recorded last year when Terry Taylor paid $76 million for a mansion in Colorado City.
The future purchase of the property has those involved very excited. For example, Charles Cunniffe Architects, responsible for the construction of the place, made a publication on their Instagram account.
They wrote: “Our Willoughby Way project is set to set another Aspen real estate record for the third time at $110 million. Originally designed in 2006 for a Texas-based familythe residence served as a center for charity events and family gatherings. In addition to luxurious entertaining spaces, the design also took into consideration catering operations, valet services and tented outdoor event spaces.”
The property is built on a lot of over four acres. The main house has an area of 22,000 square feet Distributed in 11 bedrooms, several bathrooms, hallway, living room, main room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.
Additional to the main house there is a guest house and a garage with capacity for several vehicles. Outside there are extensive green areas with a terrace, heated pool, spa area and other spaces ideal for enjoying the outdoors.
