After Mexico’s defeat against Argentina, the fans of El Tri resorted to the calculator to study and analyze all the results that must occur for those led by Tata Martino to enter the round. However, faced with so many scenarios, we have studied one in particular and what could happen; Such is the case that El Tri finished equal in points and goals with Poland.
First of all It must be taken into account that if Mexico wins and the Polish National Team loses, El Tri would need both markers to be given by a difference of +4 goals in favor. Given this reality, a victory for Argentina with a score of 2-0 or more and a victory for Mexico also by 2-0 or more, would leave the Poles out.
As previously cited, there is a proposed scenario that could occur normally and that is that Poles and Mexicans end up equal in goals and points. Taking into account that the National Team of Mexico and Poland tied without goals, the criteria that would be taken into account would be the yellow and red cards, being clear that there are differences if the expulsions are produced directly.
The criteria to classify in the event of a tie in goals and points would be the following: yellow card: minus 1 point, indirect red card minus 3 points, direct red card minus 4 points, yellow card and direct red card would add minus 5 points.
It should be noted that if for some strange reason the tie persists, the classification would be determined by a draw made by FIFA.
