The Red Devils will have a lineup reinforcement for their two-game series against the New York Yankees after it became known this Monday that pitcher Trevor Bauer signed a five-game contract with the team of the Mexican Baseball League.

The player himself was in charge of confirming that he will be facing the Bronx team in the duel they will play this Sunday at the Alfredo Harp Helú stadium in Mexico City where they will meet again on Monday.

With a message on his personal account on the social network Los Angeles Dodgersassured that this opportunity will help him continue his goal of returning to Las Mayores.

The message that Trevor Bauer published on social networks in which he revealed the agreement he reached with the Red Devils, a team that lives in the Mexican baseball championship.

“I will pitch against the Yankees on Sunday, March 24 as a member of the Diablos Rojos team. I also agreed to pitch five games with them between April 11 and May 8 instead of a traditional Spring Training period as it is the best way to be ready to pitch.”wrote.

Trevor Bauer, 33 years old and winner of a National League Cy Young Award in 2020, was accused of domestic violence by a woman with whom he ended up resolving his legal dispute in 2021. However, this fact left him out of the Dodgers and the Major Leagues since that moment.

Since that situation, the stellar right-handed starter has looked for a way to return to American baseball where after a couple of years he has been linked with some teams. The player aspires to complete his return in the 2024 season that is about to begin.

After Trevor Bauer was accused of domestic violence by a San Diego woman, as well as two more allegations from other women, the player ended up receiving a 324-game suspension, which was later reduced to 194 games.

Once the pitcher completed that punishment, the Dodgers, with whom he had signed a juicy three-season contract at the beginning of 2021 for $102 million dollars, chose to release him by paying him some $22.5 million that was still pending.

After being left out of the Major Leagues, Trevor Bauer tried his luck in baseball in Japan, playing with the Yokohama BayStars, with whom he showed that he still has power in his arm. In 24 appearances he posted a 2.59 ERA and 10-4 record during the 2023 season.
