A soccer referee was arrested after being accused of kidnapping and sexual abuse against a minor, news that has caused a stir and much indignation, especially in Argentina. The capture of Juan José Arias, 44 years old, was carried out after a raid on his home, which is located in the Lomas del Mirador sector and the City and Buenos Aires Police worked together to be able to finalize the placement under the relevant authorities of Mr. Arias.
Sources close to this case reported that the raid for the arrest of Arias It took place last Tuesday by order of the Criminal and Correctional Court Number 19, which is headed by Judge Pablo Daniel Vega, before the Secretariat of Cecilia Laura Senesi and the Court of Guarantees number 3 of the Judicial Department of La Matanza, the same which is also in charge of Rubén Norberto Ochipinti.
What happened in this case?

History in football for abuse of minors
This is not the first case where a soccer referee has been involved in a similar issue., since last December 2023, Martín Bustos was sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison after being tried in the context of the case for abuse of minors at Club Atlético Independiente. The sentence was announced on Friday during the trial carried out by prosecutor Viviana Giorgi.
The sentence was also added to the 3 years of conditional prison that had already been imposed on him. last October when he was considered the author of the crime of grooming, one that was committed between the months of May and June 2019. This decision was made by the single-person trial magistrate, Román Lanzón, representing the College of Judges and First Instance Judges of Rosario, according to judicial sources.
Judge Lanzón, in addition to the sentence, imposed standards of conduct to comply with within 3 years. of punishment that include undergoing supervised psychological treatment, the prohibition of any type of contact with any minor, as well as being close to the victims and sports institutions where minors live.
