Adamari López has always been very open with the issues in her life and this time she told Yordi Rosado about an experience that undoubtedly marked her: “I had a very big scare with the flu thing. “I got what I thought was a cold and it became more complicated, and since I’m not one to go to the doctor, I thought it would go away because it was the flu.”
“I went on a trip, I didn’t rest and I started, in addition to the discomfort of a cold, with a cough that would not go away. I came from a trip, I had had a full month of working from Monday to Sunday. That Sunday I get home, and I say ‘I’m going to ask them to let me miss Monday.’ I called in the morning and they said, ‘No, come to work.’ I arrived at work, still coughing, and that day a doctor came to the show and told me: ‘When the show is over, let me give you a serum to see if it calms you down and evaluate you.’ He gives me two serums and I never stop coughing,” he continued telling Rosado during the interview.
“I went to my doctor, he prescribed me medication, but he didn’t do a chest x-ray, the doctor told me ‘rest and if you feel better, go to work on Friday.’ I am super responsible, I only miss work if I am seriously ill. When they saw me, physically I didn’t look good, they told me: ‘Go back home, you’re not well, go to the doctor.‘. I gave the girl who helps me take care of Alaïa (my daughter) the day off. So, I stayed with my sister Adalin and my daughter. The girl wanted to go to a play place because she was bored, she asked me to carry her and when I went up some stairs I felt like she was going to faint,” she continued by saying.
The Puerto Rican woman mentioned that she could not stay at home and an acquaintance had to take her to a health center to be evaluated: “(A friend) took me to the hospital and I only remember opening the car door and from then on I don’t remember anything else. I walked to the hospital, they asked me and they did a thousand tests on me, but I don’t remember it and from there I went into an induced coma, and I looked really bad, they tell me everything because I don’t remember it.”
“My brother says I was calling him with my hand, but I couldn’t breathe. I do not remember, I only remember waking up and seeing photos of my daughter, a rosary, drawings of the children who studied at school with Alaïa and a tube in her throat. I didn’t understand what was happening. Getting out of the tub was horrible. I spent 48 horrible hours and that was another very hard blow,” he told the Mexican driver.
