Chef James was one of Rodner Figueroa’s most recent guests and during the conversation they addressed various topics and one that he undoubtedly could not avoid was when he worked at Telemundo. Furthermore, he acknowledged that he knew he was going to be fired and also He spoke about the emotion he felt about being left without a co-worker on the morning show.
“I knew what was going to happen. A month before (they did not renew my contract) I spoke with my boss, who was also my personal friend before she was my boss, and I told her ‘Desi, in a month you are going to let me go’ and she said no. He knows how to hide things a lot, and he felt like an attack of hysteria and nervousness at the same time and I told him ‘I know’. Because also a month before I told Rashel ‘in a month they are going to fire you’. I knew it, I had connections. AND They told me ‘they are going to take her out first and then they are going to take you out’”, He began by saying to the Venezuelan Rodner.
Chef James spoke about the dismissal of a coworker
“It was horrible because I am a very people person, I am very friendly and when I love someone I love them. He loved them all, he loved them all. I celebrated when they took it out. That person was a nightmare for everyone. It was horrible. It didn’t last long because there came a time when it was unsustainable. I always had very good and very positive relationships with many executives in the network and they themselves already said that ‘we don’t know what to do with this human being’ because it was too difficult from every point of view,” he added about the person they fired, but to date his name is unknown.
The Venezuelan took the opportunity to mention an uncomfortable experience with that person, and that in no way did he manage to fit in, much less with the comments he made about the rest of the work team that was in front of and behind the cameras.
“We had the same locker room and one day I remember that I entered the locker room and inside the locker room there were several locker room doors and I went into my locker room and I closed the door because I was changing and this individual comes in and when he comes in he says ‘No one is worth anything on this show, if it were up to me I would throw them all out, including the producers.’ And he didn’t know I was there. It was horrible, I swear they were the most difficult days to go to work,” he told Figueroa.
