Gabriel Porras came to work on notable soap operas that were broadcast on Telemundo. However, there came a stage in his life where he was not called again for any other project and after seeing that time passed he was forced to do other things.
“I think it’s the most difficult thing when you’re at home waiting for that famous call that we actors are waiting for for the next lead role or the next thing that’s going to happen to us and it turns out that it doesn’t come. and a year passes and he doesn’t arrive and 2 years pass and he doesn’t arrive and the third year passes you continue casting and nothing happens and you say there are two possibilities: either that I say that I am a terrible actor and that I wasn’t good and that he fires me earth down or thinking that the circumstances are not good right now for me as an actor,” he said recently in an interview on ‘Desiguales’.
“But my body and my mind are still alive and I have to pay the bills, the taxes, everything that needs to be paid, so let’s make the decision; What do I do, what activity could I do as an actor that wouldn’t make me feel bad and I said well actors were always waiters or bartenders before we could achieve fame, so maybe going that way. And I’m going to study a bartending course,” he added in front of the Univision cameras.
At first, it was not easy for him to adapt to this new turn in his career, but over time he gained experience and developed skills in the art of cocktails. Although sometimes he missed the applause and the lights of the stages, he found in the bar a new stage where he could continue expressing his creativity.
“When I had to work, oh my God, I respect waiters and bartenders as you have no idea, it is a very hard job.. The least important thing is to mix drinks, you have to carry tons of ice to be able to put the drinks, everything you see in restaurants, the pretty bottles arranged, all those bottles are arranged and stored every day, everything is cleaned every day and “If the manager sees you standing like that, he makes you do something, you can’t use the phone, you can’t sit down,” he said in front of one of the channel’s new programs.
