Martha Cristiana explained that her objective as director of Miss Universe Mexico is to promote the empowerment of women and promote integral beauty, which goes beyond the physical. She also mentioned that she will work to strengthen the preparation of the candidates, both in aspects of the runway and protocol, as well as in issues of gender equality and social responsibility.
“They talk to me on the phone, look for me and tell me that they want me to be director. It would never have occurred to me in my life, I was on my way. “I was a little disenchanted with acting, losing my purpose in life a little,” she mentioned in the program. ‘The Sun Rises’.
After the scandal in which she had to assume this new position, she added that: “It seems like such a big challenge that I got very nervous and I am of the philosophy that if something makes you very nervous you have to do it. I am a girl who associates with beauty, because I was a top model for many years, I also entered the world of acting (…) I never said that I was Miss Puebla.”
Martha Cristiana highlighted the importance of inclusion and diversity in the world of beauty pageants, and assured that she will work so that Miss Universe Mexico is a reflection of plurality and cultural richness.
“I want women to feel proud of their differences, I want you to know that it is your power, it is your super power. I want to find revolutionary women, “That they know how to communicate what their interests are, their causes.”he said on the program.
Regarding her experience as a model and actress, she mentioned that it has taught her to function in the entertainment industry with professionalism and commitment, qualities she hopes to pass on to future beauty queens. With her energy and passion for her work, she was enthusiastic about taking on this new challenge and contributing to the growth and development of Miss Universe Mexico.
“We are very open to having trans women in our contest, of course, because I have always appreciated being an inclusive woman. I have always been an activist, I consider myself a light feminist, but a feminist,” she added.
