The 2022 World Cup in Qatar left several curious images of Mexican fans before the elimination of the Tri from the ecumenical contest. Precisely a week ago, a fan whose physical appearance is very similar to that of the pilot Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez, found himself involved in a small problem that kept him detained for several hours.

The news was spread by a TikTok user identified as Rolando Hervert. “I’m outside the Qatari MP because I have to come pick up my brother who was arrested,” he began.

The young man had to wait about two hours until the police headquarters opened so he could be reunited with his relative. Hervert came in the company of three other people, cousins of the person affected. They all wore a kind of white tunic, but adapted with the colors of the Tri and the number 10. Already in another video, the user explained the reason why his brother was arrested.

Both audiovisuals had an interaction close to four million views and hundreds of comments that did not fail to highlight the fan’s resemblance to Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez.

“Why was ‘Checo’ Pérez arrested?;”Young ‘Checo’ Pérez’”; “They look like twins”, were some of the responses from Internet users.

“One is not always in the Police for bad things. A few days ago, my brother, my cousins and I were partying in Qatar, celebrating soccer because in Mexico you can’t. We didn’t necessarily do anything wrong, rather we were victims of a robbery,” he clarified.

The Mexican fans were traveling on the Doha Metro and when they got off the train they realized that one of them was without a phone. That caused them to proceed to track him, but without much success in the recovery. This forced them to file a complaint with the authorities.

“In Mexico we are accustomed to the fact that any complaint is passed through the eggs **. In this country they did take action on the matter. They questioned him for a while and then they looked for the phone, ”he said.

Subsequently, after an hour, a subject arrived with several cell phones. One of them, apparently, he had found in the Metro and it was the Mexican fanatic.

“We were not arrested and Qatar Police, my respects. I know that this video will never be seen, but for people who believe everything they see in the media, Qatar is a very safe place,” she concluded.
