The Red Devils of Mexico defeated the New York Yankees 4-3 thanks to a show by Robinson Canó and the offensive of the Mexican team.

Aaron Boone, manager of the New York Yankees, assured this Sunday that the first duel of the exhibition series was defined by the “Robinson Canó show.”

This Sunday’s game marked the return of the Bronx Bombers to Mexico City after 56 yearsbefore they played another two-game series in March 1968 against the Red Devils, in which they divided wins.

The second and final game of this year’s series will be this Monday.

“Competing in other countries means a lot to Mexico City and the Devils. It means a lot, not only in the historical aspect, but in what it contributes to the growth of the sport,” said Boone.

Dominican Robinson Canó, second baseman of the Red Devils of Mexico, said this Sunday that hitting a home run against the New York Yankees, with whom he won the World Series in 2009, brought back good memories.

“It feels good to hit a home run in front of this fan base, that’s what gives you the extra extra time.” to play because I like to play for something. Today’s game brought back good memories for me. It was the reunion of the native of San Pedro de Macorís, with his former team with which he debuted in the Major Leagues in 2005 and with which he remained for nine years.
