New Mexico authorities reported that The 10-month-old Hispanic baby, identified as Eleia María Torres, was found safe and healthy after it is believed she was kidnapped by the same person who shot and killed her mother, another woman and also wounded her 5-year-old sister.

The minor was found thanks to “a collaborative effort by law enforcement,” according to the Clovis Police Department, which did not share where she was found or what condition she is in.

“Baby Eleia has been taken to a local area hospital as a precautionary measure.”the authorities indicated in a release published on social networks.

An unidentified suspect has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.

“More details will be released later,” the department said.

He Clovis Police Department issued the Amber Alert for Eleia María Torres on Friday after officers were dispatched to Ned Houk Park near Clovis around 4:30 p.m. in response to a 911 call about a person finding two deceased women.

When the agents arrived, They located two deceased women, identified as Samantha Cisneros, 23, and Taryn Allen, 23, lying on the ground near a silver minivan. Both women were from Texico, New Mexico, according to a police statement.

A 5-year-old girl was found with a gunshot wound to the head.so she was immediately taken to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, about 100 miles southeast of Clovis, according to statements from Clovis police and state police. It was later reported that the minor is recovering.

Officers found a baby car seat, a stroller and a small bottle at the scene, so they suspect the baby may have been present during the crime, police said in a statement.

After speaking with the family, officers learned that Cisneros was the mother of the injured five-year-old girl and Eleia.

The parents of both girls have been working with the investigation team, police said at a news conference Sunday.

“The Clovis Police Department would like to thank all agencies involved in this investigation who worked tirelessly to reach this conclusion,” they said in the statement.
