Birolita, the dog who accompanies her owner to university


Professor Humberto Sanchez de León with 75 years of life, he has dedicated more than half of it teaching classes at the Autonomous University of Guerrero, and in some of his short-term activities he is accompanied by his dog “Birolita”.

The Chihuahua has that name because it has strabismus, At 10 years old she has had three litters of puppies. At the university, she is well received by the students who give her caresses and affection during the time the teacher is at the faculty.

The professor has dedicated more than half of his existence teaching classes at the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the UAGro, from Monday to Friday in the morning.

At a slow but sure pace he uses a cane to move from one place to another, Sometimes he is accompanied by his pet “birolita”, which he carries in a backpack to the university.

The lomita enjoys accompanying the teacher to carry out his activities, because When he is about to leave his home located in Ciudad Renacimiento, the little animal does not leave him, and Master Humberto does not have the heart to leave her alone and sad.

The teacher carries his pet in a backpack type bag because it is calm, patient and because he settles in that space for several minutes and sometimes falls asleep.

Humberto is originally from Chilpancingo, but he arrived at the port of Acapulco 4 decades ago in search of employment, which he found in the Autonomous University of Guerrero.

At 75 years old, he still intends to continue teaching classes, as he assures that it is what keeps him alive and active.

“It is my students who give me energy, I like to teach them until everything is clear to them, and if they have questions, they can ask and I will explain until they understand,” said the teacher.

His students say that he is an example for everyone, that despite his years, he always has a big smile to continue sharing his knowledge with them, that above the academic lessons, the life lesson that he gives them every day is more important for them.
