“I have great respect for Fernando. Not because he can drive until he is 45 or 50 years old. It is the level of motivation that he has in the sport after so many years”highlighted Sergio “Checo” Pérez about the Spaniard’s dedication compared to what his future career could be in F1 where the 34-year-old Mexican is one of the most experienced.

“I just don’t know how long I’m going to be able to have this motivation. And at some point, yes, there are some priorities outside of here too. “I think the drivers can continue as long as they want. There are no physical limitations. I think it has more to do with motivation, you know, there are so many races, Formula 1 really absorbs a lot of your life. “You give everything for the sport, and to do it for so long”continued “Checo” Pérez, who has a large family, something atypical in F1.

In the case of the man from Guadalajara, there are four little ones that he would also like to be able to dedicate time to during their growth stage, something that is very difficult with the pace of life that he has as an F1 driver.

“I think it’s even more important (to be super motivated). “I don’t think that to do this job you can be at 95 percent just for the sake of doing it, especially when you have family at home.”added the Mexican who is currently in second place in the drivers’ classification thanks to a great start to the season.
