Guillermo Ochoa is considered the starting goalkeeper of the Mexican team. Jaime Lozano and his coaching staff have given “Memo” confidence. However, Ochoa’s present at Salernitana is not good and he seems to have no signs of improvement.

Salernitana lost 0-2 in their last Serie A match. Fiorentina defeated, as a visitor, the team led by Stefano Colantuono. Guillermo Ochoa returned to the starting lineup in that match, but it did not prevent the fall of his group.

Before the match against Fiorentina, The veteran Mexican goalkeeper had accumulated four games without starting. In all these commitments, Salernitana could only get a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo.

On the way to a new descent

In his time in Europe, Guillermo Ochoa accumulates a couple of relegations. The Mexican goalkeeper lost his category with Ajaccio of France in 2014 and three years later he saw the same result, but wearing the colors of the Granada of Spain.

Today the Aztec is walking the same path. Salernitana is in last position in Serie A after 33 games this season.

The team led by Stefano Colantuono only has a couple of wins in the entire tournament. Salernitana has drawn 9 games and lost the other 22. With only 15 points, Ochoa’s team is 13 points away from equaling the safety line.

For his part, Guillermo Ochoa accumulates 21 games this season. The goalkeeper of the Mexican team has conceded 44 goals in that number of games. In more than 1,800 minutes on the field, “Memo” has only kept his goal clean once.

On Friday, April 26, Salernitana will face a crucial match against Frosinone. If Ochoa’s team fails to get a good result at the Benito Stirpe Stadium, their chances of maintaining the category would be almost nil.
