Hirving “Chucky” Lozano missed PSV’s victory against Excelsior due to muscle discomfort – La Opinion

PSV Eindhoven could not count on Hirving “Chucky” Lozano in the victory achieved this Tuesday against Excelsior (0-2) for matchday 28 of the Eredivisie due to the muscle problems that the Mexican forward has suffered since the defeat suffered last weekend during his visit to the NEC (3-1).

The tournament leader from the Netherlands not only said goodbye to his undefeated record this season, as well as the streak of 42 games without defeat, but he also lost the Mexican attacker but ended up regaining victory thanks to the goals of Mauro Júnior (m.58) and Johan Bakayoko (m.62).

PSV coach Peter Bosz himself explained the reason for the absence of “Chucky” Lozano this Tuesday and confirmed that the Mexican striker is a doubt for the Amsterdam team’s next match this weekend at home against AZ Alkmaar.

PSV Eindhoven announced on their social networks that Mexican Hirving “Chucky” Lozano was out for this Tuesday’s match against Excelsior due to a muscle problem.

“He is not seriously injured. On Saturday I had doubts about whether he would continue playing, but in the end we decided not to take risks. “Lozano left because he had an injury and will not be available for the next game.”commented the strategist the same Saturday after the defeat against NEC.

Hirving “Chucky” Lozano started last Saturday against NEC and played the entire first half but did not come out for the second as he had physical discomfort, which PSV Eindhoven have not yet specified what it is. The Mexican had already injured his right leg this season.

Before suffering his injury, Lozano had just played the two games of the Final Four of the Nations League with the Mexico national team which ended up being defeated in the final against the United States. The attacker was a starter in that match and had previously been a substitute against Panama.

“Chucky” Lozano in debt?

Hirving Lozano’s offensive contribution this season with PSV Eindhoven has not lived up to the expectations that existed after his return to the Eredivisie team after four years with Napoli in Serie A. However, the Mexican forward counts with the support of the team and the fans.

The 28-year-old player has scored five goals in the Dutch championship in which he has played a total of 19 games. The last time he scored was against Zwolle and it’s been more than four months. Among his annotations, the three he made against Ajax in October stand out.

But the Mexican forward has not been very successful in giving assists either. He has only been able to serve three goals for PSV. His last qualification was, coincidentally, also against Zwolle in the match they played in February.
