The police reported that A shooting Saturday night during a party in Memphis, Tennessee, left two people dead and six others injured.

Memphis Police responded at 7:19 p.m. Saturday night to a shooting in the 2400 block of Carnes Avenue in the Orange Mound neighborhood, where a block party was taking place, attended by about 300 people. .

When officers arrived at the scene, they found five victims with gunshot wounds: two men who were declared dead and three other victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

While police were checking around the scene, they found three other injured people near Carnes Avenue and Grand Street, so the Memphis Fire Department sent several ambulances to the scene.

Acting Police Chief CJ Davis said in a news conference cited by Fox News that police are working to locate the suspects who carried out the shooting.

He explained that the police are aware of at least two suspects who opened fire during the neighborhood party.

According to the police, the party held in the street that did not have a permit.

The incident remains under investigation.
