Actress Sherlyn highlighted the importance of speaking openly about issues related to motherhood and fertility, breaking taboos and demystifying certain stigmas surrounding these topics. The Mexican shared that being a mother has been one of the best experiences of her life and that every day she feels grateful for the opportunity to have her son in her arms.
“I tried to have a marriage like my parents, it didn’t work. There were non-negotiables for me that I said ‘no matter how much I want to work on this, this is not going to work’, so I decided to get divorced. I try to have a couple of relationships after that that I see are not going to bear fruit and I begin to realize that I begin to have the choice of a partner from the wrong point, I begin to realize that I I start looking for a boyfriend by looking for my son’s father instead of a partner and that is a lot of pressure for the couple and it is unfair because children must come as a result of love, and I already had time on my hands because unfortunately women have time to be mothers,” she said in front of Univision.
“I began to analyze adoption first and after that I began to delve deeply into the issues of donors, surrogates, about new types of families, like they are very taboo topics, but more and more happen every day and they don’t talk about it, I don’t know if it’s out of pity. When I realized that she was financially ready, psychologically supported and prepared, and that she had a safe family environment where I could reach my son, I said ‘this is the time,’” the Mexican commented during the conversation.
