Canada, which will face Argentina in the opening match, and Costa Rica got the last two missing tickets this Saturday for the Copa América, which will be held this summer in the United States.

Keylor Navas was happy after obtaining the pass from Costa Rica

Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas stated that the qualification for the Copa América obtained this Saturday suits his team “like a glove” so that the new generation of young players can gain experience with a view to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“This is a group that has capacity and that is why it is important to qualify for the Copa América because it is where young people can gain experience and it is perfect for us to be able to work for the qualifying round,” Navas declared to the Tigo Sports Costa Rica channel.

Costa Rica beat Honduras 3-1 this Saturday in Frisco, Texas (USA) in a playoff for the sixth and final Concacaf spot in the 2024 Copa América in the United States.

Costa Rica will play the Copa América in Group D and will debut on June 24 against Brazil, and then face their other two rivals, Colombia and Paraguay.

Navas, French PSG goalkeeper, stated that for him “being in the national team is always important” and laughingly said that he misses his teammates who are no longer in the national team and who were his partners in the last three World Cups.
