The 2024 Formula 1 season starts this weekend and Sergio “Checo” Pérez will have several brands to achieve with the Red Bull team, between rumors and comments about his departure.

Pérez can manage to get this year among the 20 drivers with the most podiums in the history of Formula 1. The Mexican has 35 podiums during his career and needs to finish at least nine times in the top 3 in this season’s Grand Prix.

Checo Pérez goes for the Top 3 victories with Red Bull

The Mexican driver will also be able to climb into the top 3 of drivers with the most victories with the Red Bull team. The driver with the most victories is none other than the Dutchman Max Verstappen with 54 awards, second is Sebastian Vettel with 38.

In third place is Mark Webber with 9 and followed by Daniel Ricciardo with 7. Checo Pérez could surpass Ricciardo and Webber this season if he achieves more than four victories.

Sergio Pérez is among the Latin American drivers with the most awards

The Mexican driver will enter his 14th season in Formula 1 and has won a total of 257 awards in the highest category of motorsport. This year he will tie the Brazilian legend, Nelson Piquet, with 14 years in Formula 1.

Only the Brazilians Rubens Barrichello and Felipe Massa had more years in Formula 1, coinciding that both were with Ferrari.

This is the ranking of the four drivers with the most seasons in Formula 1:

Rubens Barrichello (Brazil) – 19 seasons

Felipe Massa (Brazil) – 15 seasons

Nelson Piquet (Brazil) – 14 seasons

Sergio Pérez (Mexico) – 14 seasons

Sergio “Checo” Pérez will once again have the opportunity to win in Mexico something that has eluded him. Twice he has come in third place and last year he had to leave the race after a collision.

For his part, the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who last year captured a third title in a row, is looking for poker in the Formula One World Championship; the longest in history of 24 races.

This weekend begins with the Bahrain Grand Prix, in which his teammate, the Mexican world runner-up Sergio Pérez, and the Spaniards Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) will aim, again, high.
