Edson Álvarez will join the Mexico team for the Final Four against Panama, but he will miss the next two games with West Ham on his return to the Premier League.

The Mexican midfielder will receive a two-match suspension after reaching 10 yellow cards so far this season. Throughout the entire campaign, the Mexican has not seen red.

West Ham drew 1-1 with Aston Villa on the last date of the Premier League and remains in seventh place in the table, three points behind Manchester United, although with one more game.

Álvarez will not be able to have action on the field for the matches against Newcastle on March 30 and April 2 against Tottenham.

The ‘Hammers’ of the Mexican team were close to victory, but they saw two goals annulled by the VAR, one of them in the last minute.

West Ham United had just played in the UEFA Europa League and, in this case, eliminated Freiburg.

Edson Álvarez’s team will have to face none other than Xabi Alonso’s undefeated Bayer Leverkusen. Álvarez will not be in that match either due to the accumulation of yellow cards, although he may be in the return.

West Ham misses out on victory after two goals disallowed.

The ‘Hammers’ did not reserve much and took the lead after half an hour through Michail Antonio.

The Jamaican finished off a Coufal delivery and scored his first Premier goal since August. Already in the second half, Antonio scored the second on a corner in which Emiliano Martínez missed, but the VAR review determined that the forward had touched the ball with his hand.

Lost the opportunity to get away on the scoreboard, the ‘Hammers’ saw two points go away when Nicolo Zaniolo He appeared from behind to send Moussa Diaby’s low cross into the net with ten minutes remaining.

In ten minutes of stoppage time, Tomas Soucek scored 2-1 to the ecstasy of the London Stadium, but the VAR made an appearance again and, after five minutes of deliberation, decided to annul the goal due to handball in the play.
